How Klarna Works

  • Set the Amount: Open the Klarna app and enter your expected purchase total to create a one-time virtual card.
  • Add to Wallet: Save the virtual card to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or copy the card details for online checkouts.
  • Pay at Checkout: Tap your phone at a physical terminal where Visa is accepted or paste the card number into an online store's payment field.
  • Repay: Klarna charges the first installment upfront and bills the rest automatically over time.

How Affirm Works

  • Apply for a Card: Request a virtual or physical Affirm Card through the mobile app.
  • Shop Anywhere: Use the card details online or add it to your digital wallet for in-store purchases.
  • Split Purchases: Choose to pay in full or request a split payment plan for eligible purchases directly inside the app within 24 hours of buying.
  • Repay: Affirm pulls funds from your linked bank account according to your agreed schedule.
