Mapalé was founded in 1999 by husband-and-wife duo Pablo and Angela, two Colombians who met in Miami and discovered a shared passion for fashion and entrepreneurship. Pablo had been selling lingerie since his college days, sourcing from his uncle’s factory in Colombia. Angela brought her own expertise in resort wear and denim. Their connection both personal and creative, naturally evolved into a partnership with purpose. Together, they saw an opportunity to build a brand that blended bold, trend-forward design with quality craftsmanship and a focus on fit. As Mapalé grew, they made a pivotal move: acquiring the very factory in Colombia where the brand began. This gave them full control over production, allowing them to stay true to their roots while maintaining great standards.
